Forgiving Myself x 10
Written by Angelat: angela, Nugget 13 Comments
- I forgive myself for sometimes losing my shit with my kids.
- I forgive myself for not always keeping a clean house.
- (I forgive myself for never keeping a clean house.)
- I forgive myself for spending every day looking like a complete slob.
- I forgive myself for not going to graduate school.
- I forgive myself for not being a very good cook.
- I forgive myself for not being very social.
- I forgive myself for having no idea what jeans I should be wearing.
- I forgive myself for not yet scheduling my first mammogram.
- I forgive myself for not incorporating enough fiber into my diet.
- I forgive myself for not being able to do the Soulja Boy dance, despite the number of minutes I’ve wasted trying to learn.
Good. That feels better.

I’m doing this too. But, lucky for me, I get to leave off the last one. With the help of my horribly embarrassed but now surprisingly proud son. I can now do the Soulja Boy. And I now know it’s not Soldier Boy.

I forgive you for all except one: schedule the mammo, my friend. It isn’t so bad, really. Go.
Hug.

I forgive myself for not knowing what the heck a Soulja Boy dance is.
Why don’t I know that?

Cut and paste numbers 2-9.
I’m embarrassed I didn’t know what the Soulja Boy dance is either.

[…] of Fluid Pudding writes a list of things she can forgive herself for over at Flawed but Authentic. A few folks have turned it into a meme, sounds like a good idea to me… watch for my own list […]

As a man who once had to have a mammogram, the peace of mind is worth the pain. Gitter Dun!

Thank you for that, I forgive myself for wasting the past (insert #) years trying to make others happy before myself.
